VM Invoice stopped showing special characters 11 years, 1 month ago #36885

VM Invoice was showing special characters without problems until two days ago. All of a sudden, it doesn't show any special characters, only blank spaces instead of them. We haven't changed anything in the configuration/settings (using Free Sans). We even uploaded another unicode ttf font, but with no result - special characters are simply not shown anymore. What is the reason for this behavior and how to get these characters to show?

We are using UTF-8 encoding, Joomla 1.5.26, VirtueMart 1.1.9 and VM Invoice 2.0.13. We have not changed absolutely anything in Joomla/VM/VM Invoice configuration, there were no recent Joomla or any extension upgrades, so I don't understand why are we all of a sudden having this problem.

Hello,

can you try to update your VM Invoices first? There is 2.0.22 version at the moment and there was some updates of TCPDF library too. Maybe it will help you to solve your problem. If not, let us know again.

Thank you for your reply. I've just discovered that our license expired some 10 days ago so we'll obviously have to purchase new version of component.
I have a few questions: There's no tool to extend the license, I simply have to purchase your component again? We will be able to upgrade component version directly from Joomla site? We will not lose any old data (orders, settings, configuration, template settings)?

We are sending 2 emails. First 3 weeks before and second 3 days before license expiration. There is information about license renewal.

I am afraid you will have to buy completely new license at the moment, because license renewal is able only before license expiration.

With update you will not lose any old data. There can be only one problem that if you had some VM Invoice functionality modifications then you can lose them.

Thank you for your response. We'll buy a new version of extension and backup everything before installing it. Hopefully everything will be ok, but we'll get back to you if special characters are still not visible.
