JoomSEF is creating multiple 404 pages (as seen in attached images). Is that normal? Should I delete all those? What should I do to prevent? Should I disable creation of new SEF URLs?

Thank you

My host notified me of some large tables in my Joomla database. The largest one I noticed was:

| Database | Table Name | # of Rows | Size In MB |
+-----------------+-----------------------------------------+-----------+------------+
| database_name | tablename_404_log | 1243815 | 253 |

Can I and should I purge the 404 log? Would that clear it up?

This is on a site running on Joomla 1.0.15 with JoomSEF v1.2.4. It also had the 404 Redirect for Artio JoomSEF installed to automatically strip -2.html, -3.html, -5.php etc.. from erroneous URL and redirect to root URL.

Just wanted to make sure that the 404 log can be purged without any problems.

Thank you

I am currently in the process of transferring content from a Joomla 1.0 site (eqipped with JoomSef 1.2.4) into a Joomla 3.3 site equipped with JoomSEF 4.5.2. I am going to keep the same URL structure of site-name.com/article-title.html which I have done so just fine.

Questions:

1) In the Joomla 1.0 site the URL for the main blog that shows all the articles is site-name.com/news/index.php
However, in the new Joomla 3.3 site the URL for the main blog created as site-name.com/news (and site-name.com/news/index.php in the new site currently shows up as a 404)

What's the best route to take here? Do a 301 redirect from site-name.com/news/index.php to site-name.com/news ?

2) You may remember JoomSEF in Joomla 1.0 had an issue with creating duplicate URLs. So sometimes you would have site-name.com/article-title.html and site-name.com/article-title-2.html

Will I need to create 301 redirects for these duplicate URLs to point to the original in JoomSEF 4.5.2 for Joomla 3.3?

Thanks
