I take back what I said about the missing changelog... it was not missing....

Just want to add that this was not just a Firefox issue.
It did not work on my computer in Chrome, FF or IE.
Now, after upgrading to 1.3.6, the clock is working in Chrome... have not checked the other browsers after the upgrade to 1.3.6 though.

Before this BUGFIX, the clock worked... kind of.. But very hard to use since the clock itself was not visible....
But the clock was there... in an invisible state....

I also notice that there is no changelog coming with the zip file anymore.
There was a changelog in 1.3.4

Why is the changelog not beeing shipped with the extension anymore?

WHY is there no mention of what current version is on the download pages?

Is it so hard to output this vital information?
This should be minimal requirement... and as a service to your customers and potential customers!

It would also be most welcome if it on the downloadpage also says which improvements and/or bug fixes has been done for each version.

Here is some suggestions for a more flexible and usable monthly booking calendar.

1. Making it better looking for enduser

I would like to be able to see support for the following:

a)
Instead of having small colored square, clickable, for available days, I would rather see the whole day filled with one color. Then the whole day should be clickable if available. And this color should be easily configurable from the stylesheet.
The benefit of this would be better looking, and it would be very easy to make the calendar smaller... since there is less elements within it.

b)
If #a could be implemented, then it should be possible to optionally only show the date within each day. This would make it even more better looking, and would again make it simpler to make calendar even smaller, if wanted.
If we follow the example from #a, with one color for available dates (e.g. default nice green), and optionally set future and current occupied days with a red color....
AND now use one TEXT (date) color for the dates belonging to the month, and another TEXT (date) color for the other dates (either belonging to month before or after)....

c)
I would also like to see changes in the way the calendar displays if you have clicked the FROM booking date, .. and now click NEXT month below the calendar, or selecting from the drop-down list above the calendar...
I do not want dates from next month to be added to the dates from the month I last saw.
When I click next month... I will see next month.. period.
Now the calender only grows... so a month is not a month... confusing for the end-user (unless you know how it works)....
And technically... it should be doable.... the Booking application knows which FROM date you have allready picked... and the user KNOW which date he first clicked on (if he forget it... he can just take a look at the FROM TO fields above the calendar...

Anyway.... it should be easy to customize the colors mentioned above.
It should also be possible to optionally choose to only see dates within each day. That is, only a digit, and no month letters.

If the above is implemented... then it should also be possible to via CSS to easily configure the size of the calendar. I like it when end-users do not have to scroll up and down to be able to continue using the calendar after e.g. selecting a new month.

Since the Monthly calendar (according to the above solution) only shows one month at the time (with other colors for month days before and after current month (only for the weeks belonging to selected month)... then it should be super-easy to make it so the Month is updated using AJAX... so if you look at a month, then click next month... then the page should not load... only the calendar should change.

With the possibility to get a smaller and better looking calendar... then the calendar should be possible to position other places in the booking page.. (object page).... My customer would like to see a small calendar next to the main image of the object. Where the Properties and Files are placed today.

And please fix the issue that it is not possible to book the current day. It is very strange that this is not implemented. It could be optional though.

Hopefully this can be implemented in the next couple weeks or so? :)

I have now un-installed the Booking application.

I get some errors when uninstalling... it was unable to remove some files.

Here is some of the errors in red (pink) background (in Joomla Extension manager):

I also notice that all the tables related to the Booking app is still inside the MySql db after uninstalling.
To be sure I started with a completely fresh install, I deleted all the booking tables in MySQL as well.

Then I installed the newest version: 1.3.2

Now it looks like all is working.

I hope that the upgrade issues will be fixed when the next version is to be released.

And I really, really hope to see a new feature introduced ASAP.

More bugs after upgrading to version 1.3.2

I also have a Menu item which, when clicked, shows the "Customer reservations list".

Had no problems with this list before I made the upgrade.

Now I see these error messages on this page:

So, in short... upgrading to the version 1.3.2 made my booking system useless in the front-end... where the error messages show up.

It would be nice if the developer could fix the bugs ASAP and report back when a new upgrade (version) is available.

Not beeing able to book the current day, is a major flaw!

Let say you want to rent out cars.
Let say you rent out cars on a daily basis.. that is ... customer pay for whole days no matter when he pick up the car that day.

Now, imagine you want to rent a car, and you want it today.
With the current working of this Booking application, it is not possible to book it from today. You have to book it from tomorrow.
What about the manager or the car rental facility... He will now have to use two systems... one for ordinary bookings which do not include current day. And another system which keep track of the current day bookings... and of course he will have to double-register the customer etc etc...

Let say you have a large (or small company).
Then your company have one or more hut which it want to let the emplyees borrow.
How nice would it not be to be able to use this booking application for managing the reservations...
Now is it not possible that an emplyee decide the current day (e.g. a friday), that he want to take his family on a holliday trip to one of the company hut's? Of course it is. But can he reserve that hut from today? Nope. He has to reserve the hut from the next day? What does this mean. He would have to call an employee with admin rights, ask him if the hut is available the current day, .. then the admin must log in and check the bookings, to find out if the hut actually is available the current day.... and he would also have to make a NOTE... that one person want to use it the current day... there could be other employees that want to have the hut the very same day... and want to book on current day...

Is this behaviour very logical?
Maybe for some admins of the Booking software, but certainly not for all.

So please, make it possible to book the current day!
If this is a feature not wanted by all (probably not), then at least make this an optional feature for any given object.

Then I went to Component - Upgrade

I selected the newest package, 1.3.2 and selected Upload file and install.

Then I got this message:

"Upgrade error: reservation_id not added: Duplicate column name 'reservation_id' SQL=ALTER TABLE `jmla_booking_reservation_items` ADD `reservation_id` INT(11) NOT NULL AFTER `id`
Error during db update script. Database not updated"

Then I tried to add images to the Object Gallery.
It now works, both in backend and frontend.. wohaa.

But I do not know much about the error message above.
Could you please tell me if I need to make some changes to the database?

I see it is still not possible to book an object the current date.
I really really hope you can make it so it is possible to book object on current date.
There is really no good reason to not make that possible. Okay... maybe for some, but many, I believe would like to be able to book also on the current date.

The problem with the my current version 1.3.0 is that whenever I open the object for editing, and want to save, then I get message that I have to enter a value in the two fields. So I enter Zero (digit 0) in both fields, and click save. But next time I look at the object again those values are not put into the fields by the application. I consider this a bug. Hope you do to... so it can be fixed .... :)

Could you please add a fix for this feature ASAP? It is most wanted, and I believe I'm not the only one needing this feature. If not all want it... why not make it optional?

It is not very unlikely that a person drop in the same day he want a car.
Same for hotels.

And same if you borrow out hut's or other stuff...

Which version do you intend to get this feature available, and when will it be released?

I enter the number 0 in the fields. Entering 0$ is not working. The dollar sign is automatically removed.
It would be nice if the application was able to store the number 0 into the fields:Value and Deposit.
And that the Pricing info area in frontend for the object, automatically was hidden, if the price was set to 0.

Main image is stored and displayed properly.

But when I Click Add button in Gallery section, and add images, and then click Save for the Object, then the images in Gallery is not saved.

Why is this happening, and what do I do to make it work?

Another issue is that when I enter zero (0) in the Prices, Value and Deposit fields, and save the object, and then look at the value in those two fields, they are both empty.
Why is the zero value not stored?
It is pretty annoying to have to enter the zero. If I do not enter zero values into the fields, I'm unable to save the object (e.g. I want to change some other values for the object).

I would not call that a feature.

I do not see the reason for such a rule.

I'm planning to use booking app for borrowing out a hut to company emplyees.

It might be that a company employee want decide to borow the hut let say a friday morning... and that he want the hut from that friday and untill sunday. Takes a couple of hours to drive to the hut.

I would call this a bug (IMHO).

Could you please tell me how I can change this behaviour.
Script name, what php lines to add or change (please).
I would like it to be possible to book current day, unless somebody else has booked it.

In future versions I suggest this behaviour should be definable for each object (or wherever it is most convenient to put this).

Hope for a positive feedback on a working workaround :)

I have an object, which I have set up daily bookings for.

I'm unable to book from current day and forward.
The date-range as set in Pricing, is starting many days before today (current day), and ending many months after today.

So why am I not allowed to register a booking which include current day?
Is it not possible?

Bahh....Okay...

I just have to register the customer using the Customer form in the booking component.
Then the user will automagically be created as a new joomla user with Register rights.

Since I only want registered users to book, and that they should not have to register anything related to the customer record:

a) Admin must first create a registered user in joomla.
b) Admin must then create a customer in the booking application.

But what is linking a customer to a user in joomla?
Is it the Email address?
If not, what is the link?
